IA&A’s NEW Member's Gallery
International Arts & Artists has designated a new space within Hillyer Art Space as a MEMBER'S GALLERY! This gallery will be specifically for members of IA&A. There will be a quarterly call for submissions, in which a juror(s) will choose shows for the next three months (at least one being a group show).
Please continue to support IA&A in our new endeavors and remember to submit and visit our NEW Member's Gallery in Hillyer Art Space!

IA&A’s Juried Member’s Shows
IA&A's Hillyer Art Space's Member's Gallery is currently accepting submissions for our Juried Member's Shows, to be curated by Lou Stovall, until August 15, 2010, at 5pm (not a postmark deadline) for the shows during October, November, and December.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Artists must be current members of IA&A
· Submissions may address any topic
· All media will be considered.
· $20 submission fee
SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS:
· An email to membership@artsandartists.org containing FIVE digital images per submission as a high resolution 300 dpi JPEG no larger than 1 MB (do not use GIFs, TIFFs or other formats). Any additional images (over the limit of 5), or any images that do not conform to the guidelines outlined will not be accepted. You may also submit less than 5 images.
· File Labeling - Files must be titled with a number indicating the viewing order, followed by the artist's last name. The numbers must correspond to the accompanying Image List. Use "0" (zero) in front of single digit numbers. Do not use more than 30 characters, and use only letters, numbers, and underscores. Example: 01_Jones: 02_Jones. If using Mac OS 8 or 9, include a ".jpg" extension at the end of each image title. Example: 01_Jones.jpg.
· A complete checklist of works containing the title, year, medium, and dimension of each work.
· Complete artist resume or CV, and artist statement.

CRIT '10 Series
International Arts & Artists' initiated a new series of critiques in 2009, in which artists will be able to display a piece of their work for constructive criticism individually, as well as via a group discussion. This event is a critique for 12 specific artists, and is open to the public. Please come out and support IA&A and your fellow artists!
Guidelines:
Theses critiques are to provide helpful feedback to artists' works that are in progress or completed, by telling the artist NOT WHAT YOU LIKE OR DON'T LIKE, but by:
-simply telling the artist what you SEE...
-by perhaps describing and analyzing HOW you perceive the overall structure/composition of the work; what part of the piece 'works', what part might not be 'working', i.e. strengths and weaknesses...
-by interpreting the meaning, content, expression, artist's intention, etc.for the work as conveyed through its formal visual language...
-by offering feedback on quality of craftsmanship

Graduating Seniors & Graduate Students will receive a special “Buy One, Get One Free” Base Membership for two years with proof of graduation/standing and a $30.00 payment.
