Albrecht Dürer: Art in Transition

The life and times of Albrecht Dürer are vividly illustrated in this capacious catalogue featuring 100 of his most striking images. Drawing from the formidable collection of Dürer graphics at the Hessiches Landesmuseum, Darmstadt, this exhibition is a chronological presentation of the artist’s life and works and the advances he made to improve the popular perception of graphics as a higher art form. Dürer was instrumental in harnessing the medium of printmaking as a vehicle for new ideas about religion, mathematics and the humanities.
